Developing & Storyboarding an Existing Idea
- Reverse engineer scene to determine how visual elements might have been depicted in a storyboard format.
- Indentify 5 shots within the scene and explain how these shots advance the story (contents of the shot, composition, framing, camera motion, etc).
- Piece presented should have a projected total running time (TRT) of approximately 2 minutes or 40 shots.
The purpose of this assignment is to development an understanding of how a sequence of shots can successfully advance a narrative and be represented as a storyboard.
Assignment (3) Requirements:
- Storyboard images for the selected scene.
- Written description of what techniques are used within 5 shots to advance the narrative.
Students will prepare a 5+ minute presentation of their boards and shot analysis.
Visual materials must be formatted for effective display within a screen resolution of
1024X768 and presented in a slideshow formatted.
Suggested delivery methods include:
- Adobe Acrobat
- Linked web pages
- Microsoft Powerpoint
Students are responsible for ensuring that presentations function properly by the due date.

Handing in Assignment (3):
Students will place their projects in the course drop box for Assignment (3), located in the Fishbowl at Y:\Courses\2012-2013\AC5100_Conroy_Spring_SP13\Assign_3_Drop_Box.
The file must be named using the following convention:
Students first initial-last name_assign1.file extension
For example: Jane Doe would hand in an Adobe Acrobat file as: j-doe_assign3.pdf
