Elliptio corvus (Lea, 1859)

Type locality: Buckhead Creek, Burke Co.; Ogeechee River, both Georgia.

Range: Salkahatchee & Ogeechee River systems.

Remarks: This is another localized species. It is similar to monroensis to the south and cirrata to the north.

Unio moussonianus Lea, 1852, may be an earlier name for ths species but neither the figure nor the description indicate the weak radial striae on the posterior slope.

Corvus (L. raven) is a noun in apposition and should not be changed to Elliptio corva.
