I joined the faculty in the Department of Statistics at OSU in 2006, after spending seven years as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of New Mexico. I also hold a joint appointment in the Department of Evolution, Ecology, and Organismal Biology at Ohio State. My other appointments include Faculty Affiliate of the Initiative in Population Research at Ohio State, Faculty Affiliate of the Battelle Center for Mathematical Medicine at Nationwide Children's Hospital, and Faculty Affiliate for Translational Data Analytics at Ohio State. I served as an Associate Editor for Systematic Biology from 2007 - 2020, as an Associate Editor for Evolution from 2008 - 2010, and as a Section Editor and member of the Senior Editorial Board for BMC Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from 2016 - 2022. I co-directed the Mathematical Biosciences Institute from 2019 - 2021, and have served as President-Elect/President/Past-President of the Society of Systematic Biologists from 2020-2022.
