ALERT
The number of email programs in use continually grows. Moreover some
new ones try to incorporate sophisticated features into the email
which may or may not be compatible with LaTeX compilation.
It has been reported that some people using "Outlook Express" have had
their abstracts rejected, usually with the message "no
\begin{document} line". It is important that any emailed abstract
contain only simple ascii text. Use the "plain text" option
in the format menu of Outlook Express.
This should eliminate
problems. Similar options in other email programs should be invoked.
We have recently discovered that some machines running older versions
of unix/linux do not include the standard information in the email
headers if the abstract is mailed from the command line. Such emails
are not processed correctly by the electronic abstract submission
script.
If you are using an older of version of unix/linux, please send
your abstract using a mail program, e.g., elm, pine, etc. to avoid any
possible problems.
