CURRENT RESEARCH
Among the many organic-based magnets, V[TCNE]x has the highest magnetic
ordering temperature (Tc ~ 400 K). Recently, room temperature
organic-based magnet V[TCNE]x films have been reported to exhibit
anomalous positive magnitoresistance (MR) with a maximum at the
ferromagnetic ordering temperature of the sample. That is why V[TCNE]x has potential in spintronic applications as a source and/or an analyzer of
spin polarized charge current. One of my research directions is studies
the magnetic properties of V[TCNE]x by using ferromagnetic resonance
(FMR). FMR provides a view on the magnetic structure of V[TCNE]x at the
microscopic level with very high resolution and high sensitivity.
VxCo1-x[TCNE]2 films have been just prepared. They have higher coercive field compared to V[TCNE]x films. The FMR studies of these new films are also in process.
