The big magnet
Study paramagnetism and diamagnetism in various chemicals. Read about the relationship between magnetism and atomic or molecular structure. For this experiment we will use a 15 kGauss water-cooled electromagnet with special constant-gradient pole caps. An F. W. Bell handheld gaussmeter is available to measure the B-field.
