Girls Reaching to Achieve in Sports & Physics (GRASP)

2013 GRASP Activities - Tuesday June 4 & 18

  Monday | Tuesday | Wednesday | Thursday | Friday

After watching "Ice Princess", a movie about a teenager torn between her love of physics and her love of ice skating, members of the Society of Women in Physics (SWiP) talked to the campers about the physics of ice skating.
Ever wondered why ice skaters spin faster when they bring their arms in? It's because of angular momentum!
After learning about the physics of ice skating, the group went to the Ice Hause in Columbus. Stinger, the mascot of the Columbus Blue Jackets, was there, too!
