About the Conference

The Department of Physics at the Ohio State University is hosting the 3rd Annual Midwest Conference for Undergraduate Women in Physics on January 15-17, 2010.
The Conference is open to female undergraduate physics majors in the midwestern United States and will be held simultaneously with the Women in Physics Conference at the University of California, Duke University, and Yale University.

The creation of the Midwest Conference for Undergraduate Women in Physics was inspired by the University of Southern California after they hosted the first Undergraduate Women in Physics Conference in January 2006. The 1st and 2nd Annual Midwest Conference for Undergraduate Women in Physics was hosted by the University of Michigan in January 2008 and The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in January 2009.

The conference program includes the conference schedule, speaker biographies, graduate school panel information, student speaker titles and abstracts, and a map of campus.

You will recieve a paper verion of this when you sign in to the conference on either Friday evening (at the Crowne Plaza Hotel), or Saturday morning (in the Physics Research Building).

Student Presentation Information

Oral Presentations:
There will be two 1 hour sessions of student presentations (one on Saturday and one on Sunday). Each session will have 5 students presenting. Each presenter will have 10 minutes for their presentation plus 2 minutes for questions. The time and location of each presentation will be listed under the presenter's name in the conference program which will be given at the conference registration. Please bring your presentation (in .pdf or .ppt format) on a flash drive, or email it to perry.1685@osu.edu before the conference.

Poster Presentations:
The poster session will be on Saturday afternoon in the atrium of the Physics Research Building. Poster set-up will be during Lunch on Saturday. We will have easels for the poster session, so please do not use a tri-fold poster. The size can be up to 3 feet by 4 feet and can be either horizontal or vertical.
