Undergraduate Physics at The Ohio State University
Welcome to the Ohio State Department of Physics Undergraduate program website! The Physics Undergraduate program provides
students an opportunity to master the four fundamental areas of physics while still being active in undergraduate
research, student organizations, and other extracurricular activities. With a Bachelor's of Science in
Physics, students are well prepared to start a career in design and development, teaching, or administration
or to begin graduate school in applied or theoretical physics, math, astronomy,
or engineering. Students may also continue their education in Law or Medical School. Whatever path
students decide to take, the Department of Physics at Ohio State is determined to give students the
knowledge and tools they need for their futures.
The Switch to Semesters!
The Ohio State University will switch to semesters starting Summer 2012. This has important implications for students
in our Physics and Engineering Physics programs, especially if you start your undergraduate program on quarters, but you
will be graduating after Spring 2011.
But don't worry! We have compiled everything you need to understand the switch on the
Physics Semester Transition Webpage, along with sample schedules for every possible circumstance. If you have any
questions, just ask your physics advisor.
