Laboratory
The first lab begins the week of Monday, April 4. The labs
are listed on the syllabus and you
must bring the lab write-up from your lab manual for each week.
The lowest scoring lab is dropped.
Recitations
Homework assignments are turned in here. Quizzes, Midterms,
and the Final are also held here.
Homework:
The weekly assignments are listed on the syllabus:
Q4, 13 means question 4 and problem 13 from the text;
SQ4, S13 means question 4 and problem
13 from the problem supplement. The homework assignments are collected
on Tuesdays.
Quizzes:
There are seven, but the lowest one is dropped. No notes are
allowed and a calculator is required.
Exams:
No notes are allowed and a calculator is required, but an
equation sheet will be provided.
Missed Quizzes, Exams, or Labs:
There are no make-up quizzes or exams. Missed quizzes
and exams may be excused and missed labs may be made up while
the apparatus remains in the lab but only with permission
from Dr. Adelson (phone 292-2067; e-mail adelson@mps.ohio-state.edu;
room 1036A, Smith Laboratory). Present documentation to
him to verify that your absence was unavoidable.
Study Aids
Free tutoring is available in the Tutor Room (room 1011A, Smith Lab). A schedule of tutor room hours will be posted on the door after the first week of class.
The class web page provides homework and exam solutions, sample exams, and other useful information.
There is a web site supported by the publisher of the text and developed for use with it. See the class web page for the link.
Optional review sessions will be held before each exam
