Physics 110
Texts:
In addition the the Course Notes (copies available at Uni-Print), there are several reference texts you can consult: Dynamics of Sports (Griffing); SportScience (Brancazio); The Physics of Sports (Armenti); The Physics of Baseball (Adair); Newton on the Tee (Zumerchik). Some of these books are in the SEL library. Any required reading will be made available as a class handout.
Prerequisites:
Math 075 or equiv. GEC physical science course. See Prof. Walker if you're concerned about your preparation.

Early on in class you will be assigned to a ``Group'' along with 4-5 other students. Each group is responsible for:
  • working on the group problem -- In class, on Fridays. The problem will usually be available on the course web site prior to each Friday. You should be able to finish what you need on Friday and turn it over to whomever is responsible for putting things together.
  • turning in a group solution -- On the following Monday, your entire group turns in ONE solution with everyone's name who participated.
    **Exam Weighting Policy:
You are allowed to choose the relative weighting of the midterm and final. Within one week after the Midterm, you can stand pat (at 30/30), or opt to change to a 40/20 or 20/40 plan.
