XXXI Ohio State-Denison Mathematics Conference
Sponsored by the Mathematics Research Institute, The Ohio State University, Columbus, the Center of Ring Theory and its Applications, Ohio University, Athens, and The Ohio State University at Lima, Lima.
The 31st Ohio State-Denison Mathematics Conference will be held from Friday, May 25 through Sunday, May 27, 2012 at The Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio. It will have sessions on Group Theory and Ring Theory. The conference was initiated by Professor Hans Zassenhaus in the early 60's and has a long tradition. This will be a very special meeting since we plan to commemorate Zassenhaus' Centennial in 2012, to whom the Group Theory Session will also be dedicated. Further, the Ring Theory Session will be dedicated to Professor T.Y. Lam, to celebrate his 70th Birthday.
This special edition of the conference will be jointly organized by the Department of Mathematics, the Ohio State University and the Ohio University Center of Ring Theory and its Applications.
The deadline for abstract submission and free registration is April 15, 2012. The website accepts abstracts in TeX/LateX. Detailed program and submitted abstracts will be available online before the conference starts. Let the organizers of your session know if you have any specific needs for your talk.
All talks in the Group Theory session will be 20 minutes with 10 minute breaks. The session will begin Friday, May 25, at noon, and end Sunday, May 27, around noon.
Given the special occasion, the Ring Theory session will be longer than usual; the talks in this session will begin Friday, May 25, at 9:00 AM, and will end Sunday, May 27, at 5:00 PM. Moreover, in addition to the usual 20 minutes talks (with 10 minutes break) there will be a number of 40 minutes plenary talks, in honor of the occasion.
If you need a formal invitation for your talk, please let us know and we will send one to you. Unfortunately, no funding is available to support conference participation. We look forward to seeing you at the conference.
