Create a simple biography page. The page can be for yourself, someone you know, or a fictional character. The page should contain a minimum of a title, header, and body content. Create a site design document. The document must begin with a summary of the site's intended purpose. The design must also identify a target audience, and the concessions that are taken to accommodate the given audience. The document must detail an overall site map and identifying each page and the relative path to each page. The site must have a minimum of five pages. The document should indicate all areas of shared content and functionality, such as a global navigation system, header elements, and footer elements. For each page on the site, the document must detail a wireframe design for the page and subcomponent that indicates functionality, content, purpose, and common elements.

You must also produce an analysis of at least 3 sites which are similar in content, audience, or function to the site you wish to produce. The analysis must detail how these sites compare to the site you wish to produce, what items the sites do well and you wish to borrow for your own work, and which items the sites do not do well and you will improve upon for your site.

Create a visual design document with three design variations. Each design is a full design rendering for the site architecture produced in project 2. The design document must begin with an intended purpose for each design which defines what the look and feel is meant to convey and how it accommodates the target audience. Create mood boards for each design which documents your inspirations for each site design and how these elements where distilled into the overall theme and palette. The document must contain color pallet entries for each site which lists all colors used in the site along with their hexadecimal equivalents. Also, the document must indicate the font faces used for the base font definition for each design. Each page must be listed and provide a full visual design in this document. If a page contains free-form text, the document must list the font face, font size, and font variation that should be used for the copy. Each design will be presented and one design will be chosen as the basis for project 4.

Develop the site detailed in projects 2 and 3 in a hosted content managment system. The site will be graded for it's fidelity in relation to the corresponding information architecture design and visual design.

Build and/or refine the mobile site version for the site developed in project 4. The site will accommodate small form factor screens through the use of media queries which reflow and re-layout preexisting content elements. Final project must also run without issue on real device hardware. Sites for the final project presentation will be shown running from an actual mobile device.
Criteria
Attendance and participation are mandatory parts of the course. Students are expected to participate in class critiques of projects, as well as discussion pertaining to example work. Students score will drop a letter grade per unexcused absence; more than 4 unexcused absences will result in a failing grade.
