The Elliptio buckleyi Group
Remarks: This group occurs in peninsular Florida and is often abundant in the numerous lakes to be found there. They are attractive species that occasionally are sold by the aquarium trade as "biological filters."
Elliptio buckleyi (Lea, 1843) - peninsular Florida from the St. Johns River south to Lake Okeechobee and Lake Osbourne
Elliptio sp. - Fisheating Creek, Lake Okeechobee system
Elliptio marshii (Wright, 1888) - St Johns and upper Kissimmee River systems
Elliptio webbiana (Wright, 1934) - Oklawaha River and lake district of Withlacoochee River
