Introduction

Our research focuses on superconductivity in high temperature superconducting cuprates. In particular, we are interested in the physics of thermal and quantum phase fluctuations, the superconductor-to-insulator transition, Abrikosov vortices, and the symmetry of the superconducting order parameter. The group makes and studies films and crystals of high-temperature superconductors. Films are made by codeposition with postannealing, sputtering, and pulsed laser deposition. Important measurements include resistivity and magnetic penetration depth as functions of temperature and magnetic field.
