How to Modify Configuration

Initial Configuration:

Netgear Downloads

First Time Setup (serial communications, configuring switch IP address)

• Download the GSM7212 installation guide (pdf) and follow the instructions.

Firmware Upgrade

• First check firmware version using
  1. Console Command Line Interface (CLI): in the Privledged EXEC mode type  the "show hardware" command.
     or
  2. Web Configuration Utility (WCU): navigate to Management -> System -> Information
• If it is not version 5.0.2.1, an upgrade is needed.
• To upgrade the firmware, download the firmware file and, if interested, the release notes.
                              (Note: the instructions in the release notes don't quite tell the whole story).
• You will need a TFTP server running on your PC.
• If you do not have a TFTP server, download and install one of these before proceeding :
  (I used the PumpKIN server).

• Then choose a method: CLI or Web Configuration Utility.
